The main focus this company was a wholesale with a tools, fine machinery and also an iron-goods-store.
The company has successfully thrived for several decades. The company passed over several generations from father to sons. The headquarters of company was for the whole period of its existence in the historical center of Prague - at Malé námestí No. 142-143.
In 1896–97 the firm reconstructed a house at no. 142 at Malé námestí with frescos designed by Mikoláš Aleš and executed by his collaborators Arnošt Hofbauer and Ladislav Novák.
The last owner the firm was Vladimír Jirí Rott. In 1948 he had to escape after the communist putsch.
Unfortunately, after the collapse of the communist regime in 1989 V. J. Rott
got no justice and the property was not returned to him.
The former seat of V. J. Rott company now serves as Hard Rock Cafe.
