One of several Sequoiadendron giganteum in Nova Bana stands out from special reason of its story - it was planted by doctor Peter Holeczy on the grave of his wife Zela.
She died in 1894 in age of 34.
The 119 year-old tree has grown to height 23 metres with base diameter 477 centimeters. Tree is growing directly by one of the streets and can be accessed by public without any restriction.
There is small unfenced cemetery with 15 to 20 graves, almost all older than 100 year. Interesting spot.

Jedna z viacerych Sekvoj mamutich v Novej Bani nie je vyznacna svojou vyskou, ani vekou, ale skor pribehom.
Vysadil ju lekar Peter Holeczy na hrobe svojej manzelky Zely, ktora umrela ako 34-rocna v roku 1894.
119-rocny strom zatial vyrastol do 23-metrovej vysky s obvodom kmena 477 centimetrov. Rastie nad mestom, hned pri ceste, takze si ho mozete prezriet aj celkom zblizka.
Pod nim sa nachadza stary, neohradeny cintorin s cca 15 az 20-timi hrobmi. Skoro vsetky su starsie ako 100 rokov.
