I spent three days in Tatvan. Two of them, with a local friend, but for the third night this fellow couldn't host me as he needed to travel. So I looked for a hotel and chose Sahra Otel. It was a great pick.
The bedroom had some space for improvement but overall I was highly satisfied with my one night stay here. Also I enjoyed a good view from my room all the way to the lake.

Justification for Recommendation:
1) Great location, just 200 meters from the shore of Lake Van, which is the main feature of Tatvan and directly on the main street of the town.
2) Friendly staff (although communication was difficult as English was not spoken).
3) Great breakfast! Buffet made out of local products. An awesome surprise.
4) Free and stable Internet.
