The model can be accessed during the opening hours of the basilica without any fee. It gives blind people the possibility to 'see' the details of the basilica.
It's made in scale 1:70.
It was built by the Firma Weiß on behalf of the disabled person rates of the city of Kempten. It was sponsored by Kiwanis Club Kempten, Sozialbau Kempten, Sparkasse Kempten and Lions Club Kempten.
The basilica 'St. Lorenz' itself was consecrated on 12 May 1748. In 1900 the twin towers were finally completed. It is made in Baroque design.
The coordinates hae been taklen in front of the main entrance.
