Botic Creek flows through the territory of the Central Bohemia region and the capital city of Prague; It is one of the longest city streams. The length of its flow is 34.5 km.
The brook is inhabited by 27 fish species, such as the trout, the perch, the silver bream and the ruffe. The number of amphibians includes in 80 particular the red-bellied toad, the common toad and thegreen toad. The Botich basin is also a significant ornithological site with 47 nesting species including i.a. the little owl, the grey wagtail, the common warbler, the reed warbler, and the irregularly nesting kingfisher and nightingale.
This fish ladder is located close to near the Hostivar water reservoir, which is used primarily for recreational purposes.
