Architect Joseph Cini"

Battle of Marciano
"The Battle of Marciano (also known as the Battle of Scannagallo) occurred in the countryside of Marciano della Chiana, near Arezzo, Tuscany, on August 2, 1554, during the Italian War of 1551. The battle marked the defeat of the Republic of Siena in its war against the Duchy of Florence, and resulted in Siena losing its independence and being absorbed into the Grand Duchy of Tuscany."

Colonna di San Felice
"The second column of the celebration of Cosimo I was to symbolize the victory at the Battle of Marciano . Was placed in Piazza San Felice , the intersection of Via Maggio and Via Romana neighborhood, close to Palazzo Pitti. It is a monolith in breach Medici , got off Serravezza , along with another set to Piazza San Marco. Due to the unusual size (16 arms = 9.4 meters), Bartolomeo Ammannati took charge of overseeing operations in the quarry and transport .
In 1572 an attempt was made to raise the column that broke in half , and it was therefore necessary to pivot the two sections . The column was incomplete , without capital and without a base canon.
The draft Cosimo also included the placement of a statue of Peace at its top (in a project that involved the column of Justice, that " Peace " and that " the Religion " in Piazza San Marco ) , but death the Grand Duke came before the work was commissioned .
The column remained in his position until 1838 , when the Grand Duke Leopold II had her removed to widen the passage . A plaque on a building in Piazza remembers precisely the removal of the monument " imperfect ." In 1992 she was again placed in its original location ."
