The statue is located in front of the Frank King Olympic Visitors Centre at the Canada Olympic Park. It depicts two life-size torch relay runners, one male and one female. They are dressed in long pants, turtleneck sweaters, fleece jackets, and wool caps. They are both holding on to the Olympic torch -- the male holds it with his right hand and the female with her left hand.
A plaque on the base of the statue reads:

The Olympic Flame is a symbol reminiscent of the ancient Olympics. The ceremony takes place in the altis of the Olympic Stadium at ancient Olympia. Using a curved mirror, the torch is naturally lit by the rays of the sun. A symbolic high priestess then presents the torch to the first relay runner.
"Share the Flame" is a celebration of the Calgary 1988 Olympic Torch Relay. This bronze displays the traditions of pageantry, the pursuit of excellence that today's modern Winter Olympic Games represent."
