Let op! Dit Waymark is alleen te bereiken tussen zonsop- en zonsondergang.
De gemeentegrens van Arnhem ten noorden van de Rijn werd sinds de 17e eeuw aangegeven door opgeworpen heuvels (pollen) en daarop geplaatste grenspalen (palen). Een aantal van deze oude grensmarkeringen zijn nog steeds te zien. Deze paal is er één van.
De 17e eeuwse grenspaal wordt in de literatuur vermeld als de 'Goossenspol'.
De paal is afgebroken geweest en zichtbaar hersteld. Het merkwaardige is dat deze ‘Goossenspol’ geen pol meer heeft. De oude grenspaal ligt in een vergeten hoekje van het terrein.
English abstract:
The municipal border of the city of Arnhem was marked by raised hills (pollen) with boundary markers (poles). Some of these ancient boundary markers are still visible. This landmark is one of them. This 17th century landmark in the literature indicated the 'Goossenspol.
The landmark was once broken and is and visible (not very neat) restored. The remarkable thing is that this 'Goossenspol' has hill pol anymore.
