The grave of Fritz Hauser is located in the east of the cemetery Hörnli near Basel.

There is a statue of a man; I don't think it depicts Hauser, it is a statue of an anonymous working man. A vertical plate just states name, academic title, dates and some of the political offices he occupied:

"Fritz Hauser
Dr. phil.
Regierungsrat
Nationalrat
1884-1941"
Description:
Fritz Hauser, son of a tailor's assistant, after he was primary and middle school teacher, he studied economics at the University of Basel. In 1915 he received the Dr. phil. doctorate. As a member of the Social Democratic Party he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt 1911-1918, from 1918 to 1941 he was member of the Canton government. As head of the department of education after 1919 he significantly shaped the Basel educational and cultural policy. During his tenure the revision of the school and university Act, the creation of the state-run art grants foundation, and the construction of the Museum of Art and the new main building of the university. 1919-1941 he was member of the National Council, which he chaired 1937-1938, and had mainly a name as an expert in fiscal policy.
