Denne gamle oliepumpe stammer fra Tyskland og blev oprindeligt placeret her som en happening. I dag er den blevet et vartegn for byen, men ikke alle byens borgere synes den er lige køn. Det har i perioder været diskuteret om den overhovedet skulle stå her. Omkring årtusindskiftet var der angiveligt en heftig debat om hvorvidt pumpen skulle vige pladsen for en granitskulptur af Frede Troelsen.

This old oil pump comes from Germany and was originally placed here as a happening. today it has become a landmark of the town, but not all citizens think it is nice. Periodically there has been debates about whether the pump should remain here or not. Around the millennium a big debate took place whether the pump should give way to a granite sculpture by the artist Frede Troelsen. You can find several articles on this issue in the local newspaper from 1991, but the oil pump is evidently still there!
