Zvartnots International Airport serves the capital and most popular city in Armenia, Yerevan. Zvartnots International is the main base for Armenian national carrier Armavia, and the airport is also served by airlines from across Europe and the countries of former Soviet Union. Airport has been operating since 1961 and was modernised and extended several times. The last and the most modern part of the airport, the new passenger terminal was opened in years 2007 and 2010.
