Dette store svinghjul vejer ca. 65 tons. Det er fra en 6.000 hk B&W totakt diesel motor, bygget i 1931, med direkte koblet generator og dynamo med effekter på 4.000 kVA hhv. 2.000 KW ved 150 o/min.

Med denne maskine blev fjernvarmen indført i Randers ved udnyttelse af spildvarmen fra motorens kølevand og røggassen.

Dieselmotoren blev demonteret i 1975. Svinghjulet er opstillet i 1982 ved indvielsen af kraftvarmeværket.

Adgang til svinghjulet skal ske langs Pierens sydlige havnekaj som ikke er lukket område. Resten af Randers Havn er omfattet af ISPS-kodens krav om sikring, og adgang til resten af havnen er derfor ikke tilladt.

With this machine DH was introduced in Randers by utilizing waste heat from the engine cooling water and flue gas.

The diesel engine was dismantled in 1975. The flywheel is set in 1982 at the inauguration of the power plant.

Access to the flywheel must be made along the southern quay which is not gated and restricted area. The rest of the Port of Randers is covered by the ISPS Code requirements for security and access to the rest of the port is not allowed.
