Giuseppe Cattori (1866-1932) was a Swiss politician. He was member of the Consevative Party and editor in charge of the newspaper "Popolo e Libertà". In 1893 he was elected in the parliament of the canton of Ticino; between 1909-12, 1915-17 and 1921-32 he was a member of the canton government, and in the national parliament 1912-15 and 1917-19.
The statue was created in 1939 by Fiorenzo Abbondia. The over life-sized bronze bust of Giuseppe Cattori taking a speech is mounted on a large granite pedestal with bronze reliefs of different people listening.
