This observation tower is part of an abstract sculpture called Threads. It is located along the north side of the Motala River near central Norrköping.

When I first spotted this structure from a distance I thought it was kind of sculpture. It looks like a wire globe mounted on a cylindrical support base. As I photographed it up close, I discovered a doorway into the support column with a circular staircase that take you up into the globe!
At the top inside the globe, there is seating and views looking across the Motala River. The wires making up the globe are far enough apart that you can maneuver a camera between them to take photos with the wire bars showing.
