The memorial is situated near to both the historic fort of Kastellet and the Resistance Museum.
It was sculpted in 1957 by Svend Lindhart and commemorates Danish people who died during World War II in both their own forces, but also whilst fighting with the Allies.
The soldier is dressed in an English army uniform.
The soldier is standing on a stone plinth with a wreath on it and the following inscription.
