Since the dedication in 2015, this sculpture has been moved to the location of the permanent hole 18 from the temporary hole 18 played during the tournament in 2013. The old coordinates of N 58° 35.429 E 016° 09.931 have been updated to the new permanent location.
As part of the opening ceremony for the 2013
World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) Overall competition, this disc golf basket sculpture was unveiled to commemorate the event being held in Norrköping, Sweden.
This sculpture permanently replaces the old basket target on hole 18 of the Folkparken Disc Golf Course. The simple pole mounting of a standard basket is replaced by a three-legged, robot-like, metal base, which includes a stiff spring in the base. The top of the basket, where a circular hole number is usually present, has a wire nest structure with an abstract bird in the nest. Protruding from the nest is a small metal flag with the number 18 cut out of the flag. The whole structure is made of rusted steel and contains an artist's plaque on one side of the basket.
The basket is a commissioned work of the Olav Lunde studio.
