Hévíz is a town in Zala County, Hungary.

In Hévíz, medicinal spa tourism dates back 200 years. The town is famous for its manicured parks, safety, hospitality, and year-round cultural life. The Hévíz lake is the world’s biggest biologically active natural medicinal lake. Its temperature is the result of the cold and warm springs’ water gushing from the depths of the earth, which get mixed in the spring cave at 38 meters at a rate of 410 litres 40 °C (104 °F) water per second. Due to this abundance, the whole amount of water in the lake is replenished every three days. The temperature of the lake at the surface reaches 37-38 °C (98.6-100.4 °F) and it does not go below 24-26 °C (75.2-78.8 °F) even in winter, which makes it suitable for bathing all year round. Thanks to its unique surroundings, its flora and fauna are also special. The red water lilies blossom late into the autumn.

The new town hall was built in 1998-99, when he was mayor of Hévíz first Hungarian cosmonaut Bertalan Farkas.
The building is one of the most important monuments of the city Hévíz after 1950. Foundation stone was put to the 31 January 1998. Inauguration the town hall was 9 September 1999. Plans were awarded the Kossuth Prize by architects Peter Reinholz, Bencúra László and Peter Takács.

The building also houses the mayor's office and other staff. The south wing is a conference hall and a theater with a capacity of 200 people, and space for meetings of the Management Board and the scientific, cultural and other events.

At the main entrance is built elliptical tower with a staircase. At the top of the tower is a carillon of 18 bells (to ring several times a day 24:05, 16:05 and 21:05 hours).
