White Cross is located on the Outback Way, which runs from
Laverton in Western Australia to Winton in Queensland. It is said to
be Australia's longest shortcut, about 2700km.
Here you will find a sign and in part it says,
"The white cross you see on the top of the hill was erected by Aboriginal Christians in 1991 as a reminder to all who pass of Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross which Christians believe brings forgiveness, healing, hope and everlasting life.
With shade, water and an abundant food source, this area has given life and spiritual sustenance to humans for thousands of years. Today it remains a symbol of hope for all humanity into the future."
