On November 15, 2008, Hollis Cantrell of Artistic Tattoo in Phoenix, AZ broke the world record for the most tattoos done in a 24 hour period.
The most tattoos in 24 hours by a single artist is 801 and was achieved by Hollis Cantrell (USA) at Artistic Tattoo in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, on 16 November 2008.
When he signed on to do this, Hollis was going for Kat Von D's record of 417. Then he found out about the new record of 726 and decided to do that. He completed 801 tattoos of an "AZ" logo which consisted of black as well as multiple grey-tone shades.
