The bench was designed by the artist Anneke Granum-Kamerling in 2007.
The bench shows some sheep and lambs that refer to the herd that houses in the nearby sheepfold. The seat shows an adder, a common species in this area.
The purple color of the seat and part of the back refers to the flowering heath the bench overlooks in the summertime. The blue color at the top of the back represents the sky on a clear summer's day.
Next to the bench is a small 3D mosaic sculpture of a sheep and two lambs.
