The photo of the bridge was taken from the southern end, down on the river edge. There is parking near by and great fishing to be had here.

The bridge is located on the Fremantle to Perth railway line and crosses the Swan River at North Fremantle. The railway line from what I can work out was opened in 1881. The original bridge was destroyed in the floods of July 1926. The line was subsequently closed in 1979 by the then Liberal government to be re-opened in 1983 by the newly elected Labor government. In the late 80's the line was electrified. Today the train system is managed by Transperth.
Bridge Type: Rigid Frame (Concrete Deck and Supports)

Bridge Usage: Railroad

Moving Bridge: This bridge is static (has no moving pieces)
