This Symbolic Oil Lamp, called a NANIQ, is a gas-powered sculpture of a traditional Eskimo seal-oil lamp. The lamp with its ETERNAL FLAME, sits in the middle of Heritage Park, a circular park surrounded by benches.

The Heritage Park and Lamp were built in 1976 and are located between the Lola Tilly Commons and South Chandalar. It is more specifically 65 feet just south of the McIntosh Hall Dormitory.
