The public library in Montesano, Washington, is located in a building which is fronted by a wide flower bed on each side of the entrance. The flower beds have been "adopted" and decorated with a bust of Shakespeare and planted with flowers which are mentioned in his writings.

The signs in the garden reads:
"Shakepeare's Flowers
A project of Timberland Regional Library District,
Friends of W. H. Abel Memorial Library,
Gung Ho Garden Club,
and WSU Master Gardeners of Grays Harbor County."

Below are some of the information from a couple of the other signs in this garden:

"There's rosemary, that's for remembrance; pray
You love remember, and there is pansies, that's for thoughts.
There's fennel for you, and columbines: there's rue for you; and here's some for me: we may cal it herb-grace o'Sundays: O you must wear your rue with a difference. There's a daisy: I would give you some violets, but they withered al when my father died: they say he made a good end.
--Hamlet
Act 4, Scene 5."
***************************

"When daisies pied and violets blue,
And lady-smocks all silver-white,
And cuckoo-buds of yellow hue
Do paint the meadows with delight,
The cuckoo then, on every tree,
Mocks married me.
--Love's Labours Lost
Act 5, Scene 2"

***************************

"Here's flowers for you;
Hot lavender, mints, savoury, marjoram;
the marigold, that goes to bed wi' the sun
And with him rises weeping: these are flowers
Of middle summer, and I think they are given
To men of middle age.
--The Winter's Tale
Act 4, Scene 4"
