Um die vielen Fragen nach den im Umkreis zu sehenden Orten zu beantworten, brachte der Heimatverein Riesenbeck im Jahre 1988 auf einem mit Sandstein verkleideten Betonsockel eine Orientierungsplatte an. Diese Wegweiserplatte mit ihren zahlreichen Pfeilen, Kilometer- und Ortsangaben zeigt auf, in welcher Richtung und Entfernung die Gemeinden des Münsterlandes liegen.
