Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits

The Page Museum, named for its founder, George C. Page, is located at the Rancho La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles, CA.  Visitors to the museum will learn what Los Angeles was like 10,000 to 40,000 years ago, during the Ice-Age.  The museum houses fossilized skeletons obtained when excavating the tar outside.  Giant ground sloths, dire wolves, mastodons, mammoths, American lions, and saber-toothed cats are some of the fossils you'll find inside.  During the summer months, visitors can watch volunteers excavating Pit 91.
