This sign is located at the wall of the first building in Tempelgasse in Rheinfelden. It marks the highest level of the flood of 18 September 1852.

The building is located close to the old bridge in Rheinfelden and about 40 meters away from the river. Because of this distance the level height is difficult to guess. It could be about six meters above the normal level.
