This bronze statue by Eduard Spörri depicts Judith a character from Gettfried Keller's famous novel Green Henry. She was a beatiful young widow who attracted the main character very much, but they did not find together; finally she emigrates to America.
It is located where the bridge between the two cities of Rheinfelden passes the small island. It was a gift from the German city of Rheinfelden (it was split from the Swiss part in 1803) for the 850th anniversary of the cities in 1980.
