Visitors to
Hagelstein Park are most likely passing through on their way north or south along Hwy 97. There are
10 FREE campsites here at this park to welcome weary travelers who might need a place to stay the night and
can't or don't want to pay for a hotel or motel.
This park is technically only open from April through September but there is no gate that locks this park up and visitors can still park here and possibly stay the night if they don't mind the sometimes-very cold-and windy-weather that comes after September. There is also a boat launch at the southern end of the park that gives access to Klamath Lake via a waterway under Hwy 97. There are also restroom facilities here and have handicap access. Visitors to this park might notice a stone monument at the edge of a parking lot within the park. There is a metal plaque monumented on the front of the monument that memorializes William Hagelstein, a very prominent citizen of the Klamath Basin in his day.
Hagelstein Park doesn't contain a lot of beauty for campers here, but if a campsite is needed while traveling through the area, you can't beat FREE.
