Located near the intersection of Cogswell Avenue and 19th Street North in Pell City, this engine is one of several monuments and markers in front of the St. Clair County Courthouse. I was not able to find any information as to when this display was erected. The plaque notes it was used from 1904 but does not indicate if it was purchased new or was reused from elsewhere. The name on the engine "Lane & Bodley Co." is that of a Cincinnati, Ohio manufacturer of steam-powered engines used for various industrial purposes.

The text of the plaque on the base reads:

Pell City Manufacturing Co. 1904 - 1919
