Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)

Nine symphonies, 9 concerti, 32 piano sonatas, 10 violin sonatas, and on and on.  He is widely regarding as one of the world's foremost composers.  This statue is located in Pershing Square in downtown Los Angeles.  The plaque indicates that this statue is dedicated to William Andrews Clark Jr., founder of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. The initial project was to erect a statue of Clark to thank him for his generosity. But he preferred a statue of his favorite composer: Beethoven.

Name of Musician: Ludwig van Beethoven
