An old original pump still runs the restored water wheel on the stream in Kinloch. It was installed at this site in the late 1950's to irrigate Whangamata Station.

The original pump that still stands here and the water wheel were used to pump water to the wool shed and the dwellings on the sheep Station. It now stands along a walking path through bushland beside the stream, a nice cool spot to visit. There is a sign explaining the history of this site.
