Located on the side of a retail building in Murpysboro, IL, this mural depicts Major General John A.Logan who was born and lived in the town. General Logan was apparently one of the few effective "political" generals who served during the Civil War. Logan is also credited with creating and celebrating the first Memorial Day with a ceremony in nearby Carbondale.
