Die Schwebebahn Dresden ist eine Hängebahn in Dresden, welche die Stadtteile Loschwitz und Oberloschwitz verbindet. Die Bahn wird von den Dresdner Verkehrsbetrieben betrieben, ist 274 Meter lang und überwindet einen Höhenunterschied von etwa 84 Metern. Sie wurde am 6. Mai 1901 eröffnet und 2007 zur Auszeichnung als Historisches Wahrzeichen der Ingenieurbaukunst in Deutschland nominiert. Die Schwebebahn Dresden wird als Einschienenbahn beziehungsweise Einschienenhängebahn definiert. Die Bezeichnung Schwebebahn ist technisch falsch, weil im Gegensatz zu einer Magnetschwebebahn ein ständiger Kontakt zwischen Fahrweg und Fahrzeug besteht.

This is a monorail in Dresden-Loschwitz, which connects Loschwitz and Oberloschwitz. The railway is operated by the Dresden public transport operators, is 274 meters long and covers a difference in altitude of about 84 meters. It was opened on 6 May 1901 and was nominated for the Award for Historic landmark of civil engineering in Germany in 2007. The Dresden suspension railway is defined as monorail. The term monorail is technically wrong, because, unlike a magnetic levitation is a constant contact between infrastructure and vehicles.
