The State Capitol Building in Hartford, CT looks like a castle. On the outside, the dome is gold, like many other state capitols. The inside of the dome is decorated with stars. Directly under the dome on the ground floor is a statue of Genius, which used to be on top of the building.
Hours Open:
The building is open to the public from 9-5, Monday-Friday.
Guided tours are available at the following times:
9:15, 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, 1:15
(Also 2:15 in July and August)
Closed for all State Holidays, the day after Thanksgiving and December 24 through January 1.
