This stone sculpture by Saburo Ito can be found no the far side of the Inner harbor, opposite the Pratt Street pavilion and the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse. One has to walk around the path to get to it if entering from Pratt Street, way on the other side. There is a little garden surrounding the gift with ornamental Japanese fir trees which sort of center or frame the memorial. In the front, along the path is the dedication marker set flush into the ground and another stone marker with Japanese characters on it standing up. I believe the sculpture may be called "Yuai"

In 1972 Baltimore entered into its first Sister City relationship. Presently, Baltimore has ten sister affiliations: Ashkelon, Israel; Bremerhaven, Germany; Genoa, Italy; Gbarnga, Liberia; Kawasaki, Japan; Luxor, Arab Republic of Egypt; Odessa, Ukraine; Piraeus, Greece; Rotterdam, The Netherlands; and Xiamen, China.
