A very old, and therefore very cool manhole cover from the Fort Scott foundry in Fort Scott KS covers a manhole in a storm sewer outside of the Linn County Courthouse in Mound City KS.

Blasterz are no experts, but this manhole cover seems like it may be somewhat contemporaneous with the courthouse, ca. 1910. The letters are not perfectly lined up, the text is not centered, the letters theselves are old-fashioned, and it looks very VERY old. The cover is plain, but like we said, appears to be hand-forged and at least 110 years old -- maybe a little older.

The manhole can be found on the northeast corner of the Linn county courthouse lawn, at the corner of W Main St and S 4th Street.
