The broken column dual tombstone of Dr. J. M. Davis and his wife Rachel stands tall in the Davis family plot at the Baxter Springs Cemetery outside of Baster Springs KS.
The top of the tombstone is a broken column covered with elaborate funeral drapery.
On the west side, in the middle of the column a Masonic symbol stands out in bas-relief. The center pedestal has a round medallion on it with the name and date of death of Dr. Davis. The medallion is affixed to a pedestal, which sits on a marble block, itself on a block of concrete.
On the east side, a medallion of a different style contains the vital dates of Rachel Davis. Beneath her medallion, a verse is carved into the marble base of the tombstone.
