Bass Rock is a few metres off the shore near Belle Grange House on western shores of Windermere lake. Used to use a boat to cross the lake. Nowadays cycle round or park 700 m north and walk to rocky beach.

As kids we used to dive from this rock, spent all summer on the lake. Shoreline has small shingle beaches and tree cover, with decent track running along shoreline.
