The club is an Urban Heritage Park, where a once thriving Victorian industrial site has now been regenerated, with housing, and pubs and restaurants.
This is at the site of the UK's first completely man made canal waterway, the Bridgewater Canal, with many wharves, warehouses and factories.
At a later date a number of railway viaducts brought trains into Manchester above the canal wharves..
The club nestles between these viaducts and it is dark enough that the light is always left on.
