New Target Store at the former location of Zellers in the Cataraqui Town Centre in Kingston, Ontario. Zellers had been in the mall since it opened in 1982. The store will open after extensive renovations to the existing location. The store location is unique because it is two storeys. The Kingston location is one of 45 new Targets to open in Ontario.
Target was founded in Roseville, Minn., in 1962, Target is the second-largest retail company in the U.S. after Walmart.
Target sells items such as home decor, apparel, groceries and electronics.
All Canadian Target stores are now closed, as the parent company lost between 3 and 4 billion dollars on its Canadian operations.
