Pod lipou kázal v letech 1451 a 1454 fanatický kneze italského puvodu Jana z Kapistrána (pozdeji prohlášený za svatého). V dobe, kdy byla Jemncice zcela v rukou kališníku zde kázal proti príjímání podobojí, proti králi Jirímu z Podebrad a potlacoval husitské myšlenky. Klášter františkánu, vedle kterého lípa stála byl v té dobe jediným ostruvkem katolictví v této oblasti.

======================================

Under this Lime-tree preached in the years 1451 and 1454 a fanatical Italian priest Giovanni da Capistrano (John of Capisto, later declared a saint). At the time when the area of Jemncice was entirely in the hands utraquists, he preached here against utraquists, against King George of Podebrady and suppressed the Hussite ideas. Franciscan monastery, next to which lime is situated, was at the time the only isle of Catholicism in this area.
