Le déversoir des Balmes Viennoises est l'exutoire du Canal de Jonage. Placé en amont du réservoir du Grand Large il garantit l'évacuation des eaux en cas de crue.
Il a donc une triple fonction :
1°) Il protège le barrage de Jons en amont
2°) Il assure la régulation du niveau du réservoir du Grand Large.
3°) Il protège le barrage de Cusset en aval du réservoir.

Venez découvrir cet ouvrage tout particulier consititué de 5 arches circulaires à peine 50 cm au dessus du niveau du canal.

[ENG] The spillway is the outlet of Jonage Canal. Upstream of the reservoir of Grand Large is guaranteed drainage in case of flooding.
It has a triple function:
1) It protects the Jons dam upstream
2) It regulates the level of the lake of "Grand Large".
3) It protects the Cusset dam downstream of the lake.

Come to discover this particular dam built with 5 circular arches only 50 cm above the level of the canal.
