[SPANISH] Iglesia Parroquial de San Juan
Mencionada como "Sancto lohanne" en el Apendice del Fuero de Madrid, del siglo XII, su consagracion y probable reedificacion se realizo en 1254. Su planta, poseia tres naves irregulares, abside semicircular de traza romanica, torre coronada de campanario y las pequenas capillas de los Herrera, Lujan y Lodana, y Atlas Davila, erigidas a los largo de los siglos XV y XVI. En 1606, San Juan su convierte en parroquia de Palacio, lo que conllevo pequenas reformas en su fachada principal. A estas obras siguieron las de 1646, con la construccion de la pequena capilla de Nuestra de la Vida, y las de 1670, con renovacion de sus bovedas y ereccion de media naranja sobre la Capilla Mayor, segun proyecto de Sebastian Herrera Barnuevo. La iglesia fue demolida entre 1810 y 1811. En sus bovedas fueron enterrados el pintor Diego de Silva y Velazquez y el arquitecto Juan Bautista Sachetti.
[ENGLISH] Parish Church of San Juan
Referred to as "Sancto lohanne" in the Appendix of the Fuero de Madrid, of the XII century, their consecration and likely rebuilding took place in 1254. Its plant, owned three naves irregular, semicircular apse Romanesque style, tower crowned with bell tower and the small chapels of the Herrera family, Lodana and Luján, and Atlas Davila, erected over the XV and XVI centuries. In 1606, San Juan its converted into a parish church of Palace, which necessitated small reforms in its main facade. These works followed by 1646, with the construction of the small chapel of Our Life, and in 1670, with renewal of their vaults and erection of half an orange on the Main Chapel, according to the project of Sebastian Herrera Barnuevo. The church was demolished between 1810 and 1811. In their vaults were buried the painter Diego de Silva y Velazquez and the architect Juan Bautista Sachetti.
