Black ink on aluminium generally reflects a high degree of light when photographed at an angle & this is no exception. The shrub described on the sign, a hairpin banksia, can be seen in the background & is a common species in the Australian bush.

During Spring it has bright yellow brush like flowers but at this time of year only the dull brown cones remain.
