This church is has an active and vital outreach ministry into this suburban community with programs and worships both in Mandarin and English. The English-speaking congregation is predominantly Chinese with a small percentage of Anglos.

Here is a bit of history from the church web site:

AGAPE Methodist Church was birthed out of prayer and a vision to reach Jurong heartlanders with the Good News of God’s love. It started off as a Grassroot Ministry initiated by Faith Methodist Church in the 1980s to reach the blue collar Mandarin-speaking workers in the community. In 1993, this Grassroot Ministry became the Mandarin Ministry of the Jurong Preaching Point. It first held its Mandarin worship services in the home of one of its members before moving over to a bomb shelter.

In December 1998, garbed with a mission to disciple all persons to Christlikeness, Jurong Preaching Point launched the English Worship Service and proceeded to move all its services to the cinema halls of Boon Lay Golden Village at Jurong Point Shopping Centre. Since then, it also included the Children and Youth programs to cater to the needs of its members.

On 4 December 2005, Agape Methodist Church was formally constituted as a Local (Church) Conference of the Trinity Annual Conference of The Methodist Church in Singapore. From its humble beginnings comprising an initial core group of pioneer volunteer workers and their families, Agape Methodist Church now has a regular weekly attendance of about three hundred adults, youth and children each Sunday.

With a growing congregation, the church shifted all its services and ministries from the cinema halls at Jurong Point to its present building, The AGAPE, on 1 October 2006. Thus began another chapter in the life and ministry of Agape Methodist Church.

Members are continually challenged and equipped to serve in the various ministries and to reach out to their friends, relatives, associates and neighbours through its outreach programs. Besides the Sunday fellowship, Christian community is also experienced in small groups that meet either weekly or fortnightly. Agape Methodist Church believes that people are won to Christ when Christians make a difference in their lives.

Touching lives by serving the community is our business!
