When one looks at the faces of the soldiers you see the determination of these Canadian soldiers that prepare for battle. They are in motion towards a line close in their sight, one leading, the second close by and the third prepared. Urgency is expressed in their actions as the third soldier has joined his mates without the protection of his helmet, his comrades provide the reassurance.

The monument is well placed at the end of University Avenue in front of Province House.

The following text comes from the Canadian Forces memorials website:
"This memorial, erected by the citizens of Charlottetown, is dedicated to the province's war dead and veterans of the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. Constructed on July 16, 1925, in memory of all from the province who gave their services in the day of our country's need in the First World War. This monument was designed by sculptor G.W. Hill and cost $16,000; $11,500 paid for by the city and the remainder by public donation. Additional lettering was added at a later date to recognize the Second World War and the Korean War."
