George Washington, who first awarded the Purple Heart during the Revolutionary War is depicted on the modern Purple Heart.

This monument that has the picture of George Washington was Erected By Dept. of Arkansas, Military Order of the Purple Heart and it honors all men and Women Wounded in war.
The monument is placed close to the county courthouse.
