This beacon is on the summit of Swartkop peak. From Simonstown, take the mule track up to blockhouse gap, then follow the path southwards to the beacon. Expect quite a climb of about 600m vertical.

This spot truly has some of the best views in the southern peninsula - enjoy!!

The beacon is a sorry sight though. The pole and vanes are gone, and the base looks very shabby.

We don't have a nice photo of the beacon, so we've uploaded pics looking north and south along the ridge. If you get a good pic of the beacon, we'll appreciate it if we can use it as the primary pic for this listing.
