The sculpture is unmistakably inspired by Sven Dalsgaard in its simple, conceptual mode of expression. As a conceptual artist, Per Neble was critical towards the arts and society in general. With his sculpture, The New Museum, Neble is being ironic in regards to the recurrent debate over the placement of a new museum in Randers.
