The Kallio Library is located at Viides Iinja 11, northeast of central Helsinki. The library is easily accessible by bus, tram or the metro. This 100 year old library offers a variety of programs.
"We live in a grand celebration time! Helsinki has been the capital of two hundred years , and the rock as well as a library that the church meet for 100 years. Kallio's one hundred year anniversary of the library will culminate in September-October festival celebrations in weeks. The actual holiday is on Monday 01/10/2012, which will mark exactly one hundred years the rock library opening. Helsingin Sanomat reported on the library's opening 01.10.1912 as follows: "All the rooms are very bright and make for a very pleasant effect. They have plenty of fun and kodikkaammat than in the reading room. Hopefully, the rock and the Sörnäisten lukuhaluiset will this new age of enlightenment furnace is mainly a lot of use, and enjoy it." (
